Developmental, Year Round League
The Spark League
Fun, Developmental League for Ages 9-16
This is NOT your average rec league! Over the course of the 2-month season, athletes will work with experienced, Club Team-level coaches to develop the skills needed to progress to more competitive teams or prepare for school season. They will master rotation, effective communication, strategy, rules, teamwork, and gameplay essentials. Players will also learn crucial skills such as down refereeing, scorekeeping, libero tracking, and line judging—all of which are vital for club team players. Most importantly, Spark players will have a blast!
This program is perfect for athletes who want to advance to more competitive club teams in the future; For those who can’t commit to a rigorous club schedule but still want to be part of a team; Or for club players who want to stay sharp in the off-season.
Learn more about this program, and the upcoming season details, on our Teams page.

Tryouts FAQs
My daughter has played with Trinity before. Does she have to try out?
Yes. Each year we have a large group of athletes tryout, and we evaluate players individually and how teams will work together, so we want to see all our potential athletes at tryouts.
What if we can’t make either the tryout or makeup date?
We understand that summer can be very busy for families! Email us to request a private evaluation on a date that is convenient for you.
Does being on a certain team last year mean my daughter will automatically be on that team in the next season?
Tryouts are competitive and players should not assume that they will make the same team they played for last season. We want everyone to work hard and give their best at tryouts!
How do volleyball tryouts work?
Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your tryout time for registration. You’ll fill out a player profile and receive a numbered jersey that your athlete will wear throughout the tryout to identify them to coaches.
Coaches will run a variety of drills. Athletes will be broken up by age for some, by position for others, and will work as groups for others.
In most cases, you will be notified via email of your athlete’s team offer and will have 24 hours to accept the spot. We understand that these are important decisions, and unlike some other clubs, we don’t require an on-the-spot decision.
How are team decisions made?
There are a large number of factors that we take into consideration when making our teams, including players technical skills, coachability, attitude, athleticism, team positional needs, and their passion for the game.
Decisions are made by a consensus of our whole group of coaches and club Director, not just the coach responsible for the respective team.
The best advice we can give you and your athlete is to work hard, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and have a positive attitude – all of this will show our coaches that they want to be a part of the Trinity team!
My daughter played on an older team at her last club. Can I request she play “up” with Trinity?
We prefer for the players to play in the age group that they qualify for, however, exceptions can be made. Please reach out to us to inquire further. But unless otherwise instructed, your athlete should plan to tryout with their age group.
My daughter has never played volleyball before, but wants to try out. Do you have teams for beginners?
Yes, we have a great program that introduces beginners to volleyball!
If your daughter hasn’t played before, or hasn’t played on any teams, we recommend she gets started with our Kids Academy program. This fun group has classes twice a week and scrimmages once a month and is the best way to get her ready to step up to a competitive team.
